When it comes to advanced visual effects, ultra-high resolution rendering, and immersive location-based entertainment formats, render times really do matter. That’s why OTOY Inc., the definitive cloud graphics company, is launching the RNDR Enterprise Tier featuring NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPUs on Google Cloud.

Record-breaking performance
OTOY takes pride in ensuring innovation is at the heart of their business. The company’s Academy Award®-winning technology is used by many of the world’s leading visual effects studios, artists, animators, and developers to unleash their artistic creativity.
Add in Google Cloud’s NVIDIA A100 instances on OTOY’s Enterprise Tier, and this performance is taken to the next level. Now artists can utilize OctaneReader’s industry-leading, unbiased, spectrally correct, GPU-accelerated rendering to produce stunning new creations:
- OctaneReader users are set to gain early access to Google Cloud’s new NVIDIA A100 instances with 40GB VRAM, 8-way NVIDIA NVLink support, and 1.6TB/s memory bandwidth
- Record-breaking performance has already been achieved with over 8000 OctaneBench reached on a Google Cloud Accelerator-Optimized VM (A2) instance with 16 NVIDIA A100 GPUs
- Users can now leverage rapid GPU render times for the most demanding workloads that were previously only available with slower out-of-core or CPU rendering
At the same time, Google Cloud instances bring 1000s of secure, production-ready NVIDIA GPUs to the OctaneRender ecosystem – featuring both V100 Tensor Core GPUs (with up to 3000 OctaneBench) and A100 Tensor Core GPUs (up to 8000 OctaneBench).
This is a clear differentiator for OTOY, with Google Cloud Accelerator-Optimized VM (A2) instances being one of the few places customers can access 16GPUs connected via NVLink topology. Additionally, bringing A2 instances to RNDR will allow customers to significantly enhance ultra-high resolution production, ML augmented rendering workflows, and next generation immersive media formats.
In the words of OTOY Founder and CEO Jules Urbach, “With Google Cloud’s NVIDIA A100 instances featuring massive VRAM and the highest OctaneBench ever recorded, we have reached a first for GPU rendering – where artists no longer have to worry about scene complexity when realizing their creative visions.”
That’s the Power of Two
